LEAD VOCALS, MANAGEMENT, CREATIVE DIRECTION: AGNES RIVERA
Agnes was born and raised in Puerto Rico, and began performing in front of her fifth grade class at any opportunity available (and any not available, too) with her guitar and voice. She had developed into songwriting and frequent solo performances at private events by the age of 14, which took her to perform face to face for renowned author Isabel Allende, with the song “Para Paula” at the Belleza De La Mujer Latina convention in San Juan, PR. In her late teens, Agnes was performing with Latin bands working for hotels and other tourism venues, as well as managing and producing Rock en Español live shows in the San Juan scene and music fest venues around the island working with radio station teams and large beverage distributors. Agnes earned an audio engineering professional diploma from Musician’s Institute in Los Angeles, CA at the age of 17, where she got to work with top of the line musicians, producers, engineers, and jazz bands in the area.

In addition to working in commercial recording studios as both vocal talent and assistant recording engineer (Post Audio, Angelo Torres, Ochoa studio, among others) and principal sound engineer at live venues, Agnes performed as a backup vocalist for local artists such as Byron, Janina, and others, honored to be sharing the stage with musicians who were at the time working for headliners such as Ricky Martin, Luis Fonsi, Ednita Nazario, Menudo, and other prolific latin artists. Her experience and interest in learning from accomplished professionals set her standards high, and she maintains that level of work today.

GUITARS, VOCALS, VIDEO DIRECTION: CHRISTIAN FLORES
Christian’s musical journey started at 14, learning guitar, singing and playing in small church bands, and listening to music constantly. Originally from Massachusetts, he learned salsa, bolero, and merengue music in a small Puerto Rican church from band leader and virtuoso guitarist Victor Sanchez. Christian honed an ability to pick out keys and chords progressions and learned to improvise through musical accompaniment. He then moved to Texas where he was a worship leader for several years. Christian’s guitar style is a mix of his childhood influences – folk music, boleros, jazz harmony, blues, flamenco, classical, and country finger style guitar. When not performing with Verde Menta, he continues to experiment with songwriting and studying music theory.

PERCUSSION, VOCALS, PERFORMANCE DIRECTION: YESMAR DELGADO
Yesmar Delgado was born and raised in the City of El Yunque, Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. His passion for music began at the age of 6, sparked by family traditions and cultural celebrations surrounding him. At 11, Yesmar had his first experience performing in a musical group, which allowed him to develop his talents across various musical genres and master multiple percussion instruments. By the age of 15, he made appearances on Puerto Rican television shows and music videos, collaborating with several musical groups. Yesmar’s talents led him to join the cultural ensemble Barreto y su Plena, where he thrived as a composer. Among other successes in songwriting, his song “Llegó el Sol” was notably recorded by the legendary Dominican artist Johnny Ventura and his sons, Los Potros.

Yesmar’s career continued to grow in the tropical music scene developing in multiple areas starting from percussion all the way to musical direction and even lead vocalist over the last two and a half decades. His career took him beyond Puerto Rico to countries such as the Dominican Republic and Chile.

Yesmar wields extensive experience as a studio musician, recording a wide range of instruments for various artists. He also founded his own entertainment company, where he developed a concept for traditional Puerto Rican music, focusing on Puerto Rican Plena through his project “En Plena Fiesta”, which includes performances of samba in Brazilian Batucada, interactive folkloric characters, and much more. Many of his performances and musical creations are available on YouTube.

Currently, Yesmar resides in Texas, where he embarks in a new chapter with Verde Menta Latin Band, a refined Latin revival concept focusing on crafting performances that showcase the wide variety, richness, and beauty of broader Latin American music.
